Courses for Teachers

Cronkshaw Fold Farm is an ideal location for teachers courses. The large and refurbished farmhouse kitchen and conservatory have a warm and friendly atmosphere. Fresh farm produce is served at lunch times. We can accommodate a maximum of 12 teachers per course.

At present the courses offered at Cronkshaw Fold Farm are:

Healthy eating, growing and living

This 1 day programme is designed to help teachers inspire pupils to 'grow, pick, cook and eat.'
It encourages the teacher and student to re-connect with food production at soil level. Teachers on past courses have found it particularly empowering.

Taking the classroom outside

This 1 day programme looks at man-made and natural environments and how they can be used as a teaching resource across the curriculum. We also look at creating an awareness of carbon foot-printing with the overall aim of communicating how we can minimise our impact on the environment.

Science on the farm

This 1 day programme is for primary school teachers. We explore practical activities for topics such as: habitats, food chains and teeth & eating; developing these into activities that can be used at the teachers own school.

Cost: From £25 (this includes a farm fresh lunch)
Time: 9.30 – 3.00
Dates: See events calendar for dates

At Cronkshaw Fold Farm we are always keen to look at other course development ideas. We are currently working on a creative approach to a full term's learning for Year 5’s based around The Weird Stone of Brisingamen, by Alan Garner.

More dates and topics can be arranged to suit just email us with your requests.
